They are happening this morning...

Bets on Liverpool having a tricky away game to start while United and Chelsea get a home gimme? ;D

Coming up with reasons as to why Liverpool didn't win the 09/10 season this early is a bit of a stretch even for you no?

I enjoyed it - the sort of puzzle I like to mess about with.

Did you know that in the six seasons Benitez has been at Liverpool we have never started the season with a home game!

I'm sure that United always get a newly promoted side in their first three matches, usually at home.

Whats all this shit u are talking about, its a top of the table clash in the championship, the mighty Newcastle travel to West Brom on the opening day.

Fixtures are fixed though, without a doubt. Our last 3 seasons have seen us away on the following days:

Opening game of the season
Boxing day
Last game of the season.

The same has happened this year.

Fixtures due today...another home game to start the season for United? Odds on it being against one of the newly-promoted sides? Liverpool away to...let's say Fulham, for the fun of predicting.

Hopefully I'll be wrong!

City away is the easiest fixture on the calender. We'll be taking our customary three points.

I'll remind you of that when the time comes...

As will I. You'll be bricking yourself as usual which will quickly switch to suppressed smugness after the game.

You talk a big game so far from the fixture. You'll be your usual sweating, pessimistic self come the game.
