Played it for about 30 mins last night and must agree that the look and feel of it felt very source(ish). I think the models will bring it closer, but the movement still has that source gliding feel to it. The gun models will be around for quite some time as they are the last thing which will be looked at. The player models will be released in the next beta. A nice preview released of a player model and animation.... Click Here

Will probably try it out with anT tonight for a bit of testing.

After playing again for a few hours last night it's grown on me very quickly. Just some 1vs1 with anT. A lot of 1.6 is there and you can see it if you give it a chance and don't just skeptic at the source things. The models and movement still needs some adjusting, as previously said, but I thoroughly enjoyed some CSP last night.

Probably my least favourite thing is that the source weapon sounds are in it. the M4a1 sounds awful, like some sort of automatic cap gun. I do agree though Juicey, it has grown on me too. I'm shit though :(

I think after a few more updates it could be very nice indeed. Sound/model changes are already in the todo list so it's looking good. A lot of bugs also need fixing, cant say i came across many myself. Just a case of how long it's gonna take em to do it.

Cant bunnyhop for shit now :(

if anyone has a server they can host CSP on it would be good to get some friendly games going. Got quite bored of all the TK'ing and idiots on the publics which were otherwise quite fun.

Found it quite interesting that there's a 1 day comp for the beta already. Link!

CS would definitely be a much better game if it had more bushes to hide in, you're right.

Yeah, round time 10 mins please. we're camping in the bushes. You'll only end up been killed camping. You cant hide behind fukall in CS without been wallbanged,so a bush wont save ya.

Not sure how successful it will be. If it's just a clone of CS then why don't people just play CS?

I hope I'm wrong and it's successful. CS has never been done again and I miss those 8 hour sessions sometimes - tho I'm of an age now where DVT is a problem if I sit still that long :P

Looking forward to having a go :)

Then it sounds shit in real life too. CS 1.6 sound was much better.

I must admit, after another few days of playing and getting used to my old CS key binds again i am really enjoying it.

Cracking game but I get headshotted constantly while checking out the maps lol.

I realise how shite I've become at gaming playing this again!

Played for a few hours last night. Was pretty rusty but the madskillzzzz started to come back. Most servers we were on seemed to reward large amounts of cash so it generally ended up being an awp-fest from round one onwards, which was annoying. I had forgotten how much I hate that weapon.

All in all, good fun. It would be good to get a few of the babblers together for a map or two.

I can only assume that the only people who have heard of the mod are people who are interested in the CS scene anyway and usually they tend to be good players so the quality of player on the servers is higher than your average cs source or 1.6 (in its day) server.

That combined with extreme rustiness equals being ultra shit. But it is still fun though, provided you avoid the £16000 starting cash servers.

To be honest mate, they are still hanging around unfortunately. I tend to just move servers until i find one thats non-FF.

We keep giving this a try and it's good fun, but still very source like. 1.05 will be out sometime this year and hopefully will make a huge difference to an already good start.

Gameplay wise it feels 1.6 ish, movement and looks are still too much like source for me. Some of the server settings can be adjusted to get that more 1.6 feeling (like air accelerate, friction and such) but the cspromod devs are wanting to get the tuning right, rather than having to start altering settings etc. I imagine leagues will want to run stock.
