Watching it all again, for the millionth time.

Still strikes me just how good it is.

Best episode is the clubbing one. Sums it all up.

But its just brilliant all the way through - the references are so clever, the direction and music so crisp. Edgar Wright (etc) have all gone on to great things, you can see his direction style in this and how it has panned out to Shaun of the dead/scott pilgrim.

Anyway, brilliant stuff.

It's the only sit-com box set I own.

I can confirm Spaced is, in fact, brilliant.

I watched a few episodes based on the opening posters recommendation.
Found it un-funny and less than original.

I think it's one of the most original shows I've ever seen in it's format. In fact I can't think of a more original sitcom.

He posts videos of his friends making spectacles out of themselves on drugs, women in tatty thongs crouching on the floor in front of a pool of vomit and for some reason, videos of them interfering with another mans penis all under the effects of alcohol/drugs.

Do you really think he's the target audience for this kind of humour?

I would've thought it was aimed at anyone who liked any part of pop culture and liked funny stuff (you don't even need to get the references to find it funny). He's wrong about the originality, regardless.

It's more nerdy humour I find. Very much for geeks who like to sit in and veg on the sofa to lots of sunday morning sci-fi on a regular basis.

The references are nerdy - if you had never played resident evil then you're only going to get so much out of that joke - but the fast paced direction and, in my opinion anyway, great characterisation should make this appealing to most people who like good comedy.
