I recommend "Jesus Camp" for a lesson in everything that is wrong with American evangelical organised religion today.

I spent about 90 minutes shaking my head. Children. Kids. It is actual brainwashing and should be illegal.

Sometimes...i'm just so ashamed that as people we can be so affluent and rich and educated and yet be so fucked up.

I've seen some similar stuff through watching programs with/by Richard Dawkins. Some of the leaders of the US churches are seriously fucked in the head. They wouldn't get away with a lot of the stuff they do over here (or many other counties), it'd be considered child abuse (both mentally and in some cases physically).

I can highly recommend "Jiro Dreams of Sushi", a documentary about a sushi chef. He dreams about it. And he runs a three Michelin-starred restaurant in Tokyo. It's an interesting look at the man but it also shows a little about the Japanese mentality.

I watched the WCW one last night. I thought it was an interesting subject, but it wasn't a very good documentary. Perhaps when a lot of the wrestlers still working in TNA are retired they'd be willing to shed more light on what went on behind the scenes, who hated who, etc. That's what I find compelling.

Beyond the mat is a better under the skin doc, although it is quite old now and you would have to have been into wrestling back in the day to even know some of the people involved.

What you should do, JOEL, is find out, from the heartland, which best docs detail rise of Puroesu! Insider knowledge and all that.

Also, whilst i'm at it, are schoolgirls panties in a dispenser real? And what's up with the sea creature porn?

The used panties in vending machines were real, but that stopped seven or eight years ago I think.

The sea creature porn, who knows... If I wanted to speculate at a deeper meaning, I'd guess it has something to do with the fear of foreigners and the rape of Japanese culture. As shown by Godzilla, the country has always had a fear of attack from the sea deep-rooted in the collective psyche. I find it hard to think that anyone actually gets off on it. And I'm speculating here, but I think it originated in and is more common in anime as a theme within a story, rather than just as a stand-alone porn film.

There's a documentary called Bloodstained Memoirs that I've not found any streaming links for. It was filmed over the course of four years and features interviews with a couple of big names in Japanese wrestling.

Just saw it hasn't received favourable reviews though: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1345819/

Pervs. It's a big problem, and the reason it's impossible to take a photo with your iPhone without the shutter sound.
