I gave it a go over the weekend (thanks for the key, Dev !) and it's a lot of fun. Granted I'm a complete newbie so I was mostly running around trying to stick with my squad but there were some cool moments. Someone was organising and I was part of a tank column rolling over to a cap point we needed, with fighters and galaxies buzzing around over head, was amazing !

My PC finally seems to be showing its age, or there is a lot of optimisation still to do as I was getting 25fps and below.

i also have a spare key if anyone wants to give it a try. Last time i tried it out it was night and i was really struggling to see anything which took a bit of fun out of it..

Was playing it earlier with sim. Totally overwhelmed in giant battles with all the eye candy on. It is headache inducing with all the explosions/lasers and shit flying around.

So what server and faction is everyone playing on? Not touched this in a while but want to come back and nose at what they have managed to fix... My TR on EU one is still the only one that has had any real play time.

I've been using a vanu on the american server mainly because every time i try to get on my TR/eu char there is no space.

I'm playing vs on the eu server with the goons from SA. Not that there's usually many on but they have a mumble server running which makes life a bit easier.

so far this game is complete balls solo...

so is there any days/times that would suit people where we could have 5+ on to attempt to do things as a squad? I prefer being engineer.

VS on eurydome seems to be the way forward.

I'll not be on this weekend at all I imagine as I'm working but evenings after 8 would be my preference. I'll launch it through steam so you can see when I login.

There is a euro outfit and server but lately there's more life in a tramps vest. I'm going to see if my connection will stand playing on one of the US servers. I doubt it will.

You really need to play in a squad to get anything really fun done.

Got this updated and played a bit over the weekend with Mike. Certainly feels more fleshed out now than last time I played the beta.

Certs seem to be really out of whack though, a single gun upgrades takes about 16 certs or something silly, and you seem to get one a level...

And Dave, I wouldn't worry too much, seems you can create chars of multiple factions on the same server. Currently I have NC and VS on the Eurodome or whatever its called been playing VS with Mike.

Seems oddly close. I know its in beta, but we really haven't seen much of the maps or anything yet...

I hear they changed the way you buy new guns, now certifications not materials which is probably better...

I'm still to be convinced that this is going to be any good without seeking out a large outfit and taking time to get to know new people... which obviously i cannot be bothered with.
