So... I think I must be one of the last on here to do so.

We had a little girl a couple of days ago, just getting over the efforts!

Attached for those that like such things... :)

:)

Mrs is doing the hard bits... I'm just a mobile mattress for Sophie.

She was 3.4kg and 58cm long, about 35 hours between waters breaking and delivery, not sure how that stacks up, but it felt like a long time!

congrats mate, although that is a hell of a long delivery. my daughter was the wrong way up and needed forcepping out and that was a mere 29.5 hours of unpleasantness. my son on the other hand played by the rules and was out within the hour of waters going.

your job now is to protect your missus and make sure she gets rest whenever possible. if you find yourself with time for gaming you should probably be either sleeping or making meals. it took about 4 months (basically when i sleep trained 'em) in both cases before i started getting free time back.

pub trips etc are now a thing of the past as you will develop a mortal fear of hangovers, hope you reconciled yourself to that!

Congrats....although it has to be said I'm surprised she's not wearing a tin-foil hat in the pic. ;)

Tbh I messed up with the hat. Put the shiny side on the outside and the photos didn't work. Had to whip it off for these 2....

@Makie... not sure how tbh, nothing I say has any value till she hears it from a midwife... total refusal to rest properly, and Sophie refuses to sleep in her cot or carrier. Shes fine on the bed, even the far edge of it. But the cot is just a foot too far - good for about 5 minutes only. Got a new thing coming tomorrow that has good reviews, but tf.

neither of mine slept much in a cot to start with. for the first 6 weeks or so they slept on my chest between about 8 and midnight each night so the missus could get some rest (i just chained endless family guy or watched anime on my psp while this happened).

best just stick to following orders. there was a saying in my house; you can't punch fatigue. and as the law also frowns on punching babies and smug parents you're likely to get the thick end of your wifes sleep deprived misery. don't take it personally and don't argue back.

if you get a sprog with reflux, let me know, i've had 2 so that i can at least help with...
