Never done much Laptop shopping is this feasible or are the mobile GPUs / CPUs still shit?

No, but yes. You'd be looking at nearer £800 for something that could do 1080p on a reasonably modern game http://forums.babblers.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif

for £550-600 you can get a 720p or there abouts 15" laptop that would do the job based on the AMD trinity APU. http://www.overclock...=959&catid=1828

+ storage.

then get a cheap tablet or something for browsing :P I'm never keen on recommending gaming laptops for people that aren't needing to take them around the place. You just pay too much of a premium for the compromise.
