Well the forum didn't load the one I originally posted until after I made this one, so try and forget that I made two threads.

Can we have no knowing comments from people who've read the books please.

Tonights ep - brilliant and shocking. I've never watched anything with so many unexpected major plot turns. Like, this changes the whole fucking thing.

I now watch every ep wondering who is going to die.

It was in the book, so it happened. There's no good reason for it other than it's shocking and he has a hard-on for killing people like he did Ned. Get used to it.

Theon Greyjoy spent the whole season being tortured - for no reason other than it was in the book (For no reason btw).

Spoilers! IE SPOILERS FROM THE BOOKS.

Skip if you're arsed.....
Spoiler

In short, he died for no reason.

Thanks for just ruining part of the future story for me. I didn't think you would post stuff from the upcoming events of the book.

I've not read the books but it's well understandable considering it's adapted from books. This sort of thing happens easier in written stories; especially one with shit loads of characters. We need more TV shows like this.

yeah definitely. I've never seen a show like it. The depth of characters and the scope of the story is amazing. I'd love it if they made more like this.

I was genuinely shocked at the end of episode nine, more than I've ever been for a TV show. I wasn't even aware of the attachment I had to those characters until then.

Read The Wheel of Time - it has all of this and more, but it's too much LOTR to get onto the small screen.

The Wheel of time would be too hard on the special effects budget- much more magic mixed in with the politics.

Instead they go and make shit like Legend of the Seeker. <_<

I'd love them to make a Discworld show that's similar to Game of Thrones. In terms of production, I mean. I know the tone of the books is maybe a little less serious than A Song of Ice and Fire, but the books are so well told that they could definitely be made into something amazing. The couple that Sky put out were okay but they didn't feel like Discworld to me, not really. Not enough money spent on sets/extras/FX. Also David Jason is definitely not Rincewind.

You know that would actually have been good if it followed the books properly.
