I get very bad cramp in my little finger after playing for some time. I think it's due to the strange angle I have it at when pressing ctrl. I have this bound to crouch.

I found the answer while using a mate's V V dodgy key binds.

He has swapped Ctrl and Shift! I find myself crouching more than walking, so this is ideal.

I just thought I'd spread this nuggest of information.

/me puts on flame resistant suit, getting ready for everyone elses key binds ... biggrin.gif

Changed crouch up to Q and walk to tab a long time ago, ctrl now does the scoreboard, definately helped with my finger cramp.

Interesting (and I'm not talking about your Avatar smile.gif)...

So, do you use your little finger to press hte Q button, or do you use the next finger in? (If the later is true, then doesn't it hamper your movements)...?

Cheers

i use the numeric keypad for everything now, i used to also use a few of the direction keys with my little finger, but since breaking it and having it in a splint i have re-jigged so that now i dont actually have to use it at all wink.gif Now everything i need gameplay wise is on the numeric keypad....my chat stuff is with the page up, page down stuff.

I use the 4th finger, not as puny as my little finger, so I can play for longer, I tend to find that there isn't a huge call for pressing left "A" and duck "Q" together, as if I want to move and be quiet I use the walk toggle, and when I am crouching I generally want to stay still.

q = jump
s = duck
x = down

rest default.. I use shift and space really for shit all, I used to use numpad like that but I dont have enough space to move my keyboard to the left and I wanted more keys around it so I moved to wasdxqs area tongue.gif

easiest if your crouching pinky is gettign sore, sqitch crouch with jump

you jump a lot less than you crouch and crouching also makes you quiet so it should be easily at hand .. e.g. space and using the thumb is perfect for crouch work wink.gif
you'll come around Croc .. and oh yeah

Sieg Heil

No, because I'm smart enough to use arrows.

Arrows !!! Arrows are worse than numpad

Arrows were only ever any good for Duke Nukem 3D where you did not need a mouse as it had some sort of auto aim on the up down plane. other than that arrows are only used by people with learning difficulties who cannot understand that just because there is a picture of the direction you want to go does not mean you must use it biggrin.gif

The layout is just so much nicer. WASD is too cramped, Arrows has nicely laid out keys, well grouped together, with many unique keys instead of a mass of squares.

Having said that, I do have gargantuan mits. A normal person my find WASD acceptable.

I use thumb for jumping!

wasd is too cramped and angled. Numpad has a nice layout.
